WordPress automatically generates a blog post preview. The technical term for this is called a “post excerpt.” Every post in WordPress has this capability — this includes custom post types. The default process is to generate the excerpt automatically, but you can manually override this by enabling a custom field. While editing any post > in the upper right corner > click Screen Options > check to box before “Excerpt” > now scroll down below the main post text editor > you’ll now see a box to type the Excerpt.
